And our passion is to bring different flavors to your table with our family of dips and spreads. We start with authentic recipes, then use fresh ingredients to create gourmet products that bring a taste of the world to the everyday.
A Little Bit of History
Our company was founded in 1986 in Queens New York as Sabra Blue & White Foods. We started with the simple mission of bringing the healthy and delicious cuisine of the Mediterranean to people’s everyday diets—foods like hummus, eggplant dips, babaganoush spreads, and vegetarian sides.
True to our adventurous nature, we’ve recently embraced and been inspired by flavors from around the world. This has lead to us introducing a new range of delicious, fresh dips like salsa, guacamole, and Greek yogurt veggie dips.
Even though we were founded 25 years ago, our adventure is still just starting. We hope you’ll join us as we continue on for years to come.
Sabra Dipping Company is owned by two independent, global food companies – PepsiCo, based in the US, and Strauss Group, which is headquartered in Israel.

Our Social Responsibility
We at Sabra are not only committed to the products we create, but to the people, places, and environment that help us along our adventure. It’s our firm belief that our corporate social responsibility directly impacts our future, which is why we are committed to helping our environment, caring for our community and staff, and promoting better nutrition.
Preserving Our Planet
When you’re inspired by the different flavors of the world, as we are, it’s hard not to be a little inspired by the world itself. Which is why we at Sabra feel a responsibility to the environment and our planet.
We’ve taken great strides to make our company as eco-friendly as possible. Take, for example, our new plant in Richmond, Virginia. 20% of the building is constructed from recycled materials and almost all of the construction waste materials will be recycled. To make the plant as energy efficient as possible, we will implement innovative and eco-friendly designs like a reflective roof that cuts our cooling needs and heat recovery systems that cut our heating needs. In fact, at least 35% of the building’s energy will come from renewable resources. That’s equivalent to offsetting the yearly electricity use of 573 households a year!
But of course having an eco-friendly factory doesn’t mean much if what you produce isn’t also environmentally friendly. That's why we’ve invested three years into developing new packaging for all our products. Sabra’s new packaging is made from 30-45% post consumer recycled plastic. That change itself saves 325,000 gallons of gasoline and 319 metric tons of carbon a year. All of which is proof that although our package lid maybe be red, we’re doing a lot to be green.
Supporting the Community
Though we often talk about adventure, we appreciate the places we call home as much as anyone else. And with offices and facilities in New York, Virginia, and California, we’re lucky to call some of the most interesting and diverse communities home.
Giving back to those communities, and to the nation as a whole, is an integral part of our mission. Sabra supports causes, communities, and events throughout the country with generous financial and product contributions. We have informally adopted two community centers near our plant in Virginia as well. Our employees have enjoyed making the facilities over—fresh paint, new furniture, a fitness center, and even new toys. It’s all a part of being good neighbors.

We’re proud to bring the best of the world’s authentic recipes to your table with our family of refrigerated dips and spreads. Our hummus is made with fresh herbs, spices, and chickpeas grown right here in the U.S. Sabra Salsa has fresh cut vegetables, spices, and Roma style tomatoes grown in California while our new line of Guacamole is made of Mexican-grown Hass Avocados. Our all-natural Greek Yogurt Veggie Dips have 67% fewer calories and 88% less fat than the leading sour cream dips.
